So tired of selfish, whiny Americans and the stupid, lazy media. The headline reads, ‘X hundred thousand people are having their insurance policies cancelled or their premiums raised because of the ACA.’ Because in the good, old days before health care reform no insurance company ever cancelled a policy or increased a premium, right?
The whiny-ass person interviewed for the article says ‘Obama said I could keep my current insurance if I liked it. Obama lied.’ Really? You want to keep that ‘better hope you don’t get sick’ junk policy that doesn’t cover shit instead of one that is required to have certain basic standards under the ACA? The one in which you lived under the threat of being bankrupted by medical expenses? You want to keep that policy that has lifetime caps and that the insurance company can cancel any time they want? You really want to keep that policy? Dumbass.
And, oh by the way, you may be eligible for a subsidy for that new plan that covers more so the actual cost may be the same or less than what you’re paying now, but you probably won’t read that in the news report. Not good for ratings to actually report stuff like facts that aren’t nearly as sensationalistic, dontcha know.
‘Waaaahhh, my new policy is going to cost more than the one I had before.’ So the hell what? Even if you aren’t eligible for a subsidy and you end up paying a few dollars more, it just might help people who haven’t been able to afford care, or those with pre-existing conditions who weren’t able to get insurance at all pre-ACA, to finally get coverage. It may also help the working poor get coverage from Medicaid expansion. STFU and think of somebody besides yourself once in a while.
I’m not really a big fan of paying school property taxes when I don’t have a kid anywhere near a school, but I realize that an educated population is better and more productive for our society as a whole than an uneducated one. Kinda like healthy people are as compared to sick people. Suck it up and kwitcher bitchin’.
