Has there ever been a more brazen, bald-faced, shameless, liar running for president than Mitt Romney? This guy makes Richard Nixon look like Abraham Lincoln. Yesterday in Ohio:
This on the same day that the Romney campaign released yet another ad with the lie about President Obama ending work requirements for welfare, because you know (wink, wink) it's "those people" who get welfare. And later in the speech Romney repeated the lie about the President "raiding $716 billion from Medicare."
Project much, Mitt? Those welfare ads don't demonize anybody, do they? And who is the one who sold his soul and turned his back on everything he previously believed to play to the bigotry and hate of the radical right-wing of the Republican Party in hopes of getting just enough votes to be elected? That would be you.
Specific ideas, like the ones they won't talk about until after the election. And the 12 million jobs that no economist who doesn't work for the Romney campaign has said has any basis in reality.
Liar, the President has done no such thing.
Just don't ask about my record.
You should, vulture boy. You've sent enough of them overseas.
Especially since we have allies in Ohio who are doing their damndest to make sure everyone who might vote for President Obama isn't allowed to cast a ballot.
"His [Obama's] campaign and his surrogates have made wild and reckless accusations that disgrace the office of the Presidency."

"Over the last four years, this President has pushed Republicans and Democrats as far apart as they can go. And now he and his allies are pushing us all even further apart by dividing us into groups. He demonizes some. He panders to others. His campaign strategy is to smash America apart and then cobble together 51 percent of the pieces."

"Paul and I have a positive agenda that will lead to economic growth, to widespread and shared prosperity that will improve the lives of our fellow citizens. Our Plan For A Stronger Middle Class will get America back to work and get our country back on track.
We are offering solutions that are bold, specific, and achievable. We're committed to helping create 12 million new jobs and to bring better take-home pay to middle class families."

"...we will champion small business. Unlike President Obama, I won't raise taxes on small business."
Liar, the President has done no such thing.
"I spent 25 years in business..."
Just don't ask about my record.
"...and I know what it takes for the private sector to create jobs. I know why jobs go away..."
You should, vulture boy. You've sent enough of them overseas.
"This election can come down to just one more vote. I ask you find that vote. Ask one more person to join our campaign. Ask one more person to join us who supported President Obama four years ago and didn't get the change they deserved. One more vote can make the difference in Ohio. And Ohio will make the difference for America."

Hey Scott, Des, Bob, Voice, AstrogirlKel, and Neil,
I'm going to sign off again from the Daily Hurricane. I do appreciate being able to post my thoughts here unencumbered. I don't have the time frankly. My overwhelming attention outside of my marriage is directed at Global Warming. And I do appreciate very much Neil's attention to the issue.
As far as I can tell, he is the only one that gets it, because nobody else ever posts on the subject. This Summer should have been a wake up call to all Americans, and I hope it did do just that.
I would just suggest that you all bring extreme passion to this issue.

This is a point where all mature adults get to. I'm not 100 percent happy with Obama either but he beats the alternative. I think when looking at election politics we have to distinguish between those that stretch or cherry pick the truth and those that out and out lie. My question for Romney would be this: what does it say about you and your positions that you feel you have to lie and your party feels it has to suppress votes? If you really believed in what you are saying then why not just say it and let the chips fall where they may?
Hey Des,
So....a year ago you said you would not vote for Obama. Now it appears not only are you going to, but you all your posts leading up to this election are critical of Republicans only. Assuming Obama wins the election, how soon do you plan on waiting before you criticize democrats again? I actually foresaw this pattern, and predicted in my own mind a year ago, that you would:
A. Change your mind, and vote for Obama
B. Not criticize Obama in your posts leading up to the election
C. Start in again criticizing Obama if he won, at some point.
Yes, I really did.
But, that's okay, don't sweat it. We're ALL pretty predictable in our behavior. But I commend you for willing to be "out there" and taking pretty far left positions which I'm sure is not exactly popular in Texas. This is one area, I am pretty weak in frankly. I prefer to remain anonymous, but am thinking seriously about throwing all caution to the wind, and being "out there" too. The times demand it. It's no time for lack of courage. We're only talking our survival here.
