Mitt Romney is a Dirty, Race-Baiting Liar

Mitt Romney's latest ad isn't dishonest. It isn't a distortion of the truth. It isn't misleading. It's a lie. It's a dirty, shameless, bald-faced, race-baiting lie. And Mitt Romney is a dirty, shameless, bald-faced, race-baiting liar. Period.

No need to go into refuting what Romney and his team of scumbags said in the ad. It's just a continuation of Reagan's "welfare queen" and Gingrich's "food stamp president" meme. Steve Benen put it like this:

"I'd be remiss if I neglected to mention the racial subtext of an attack ad like this one. For decades, Republicans used "welfare" as part of a racially-charged message ("Democrats want to give white people's money to lazy black people who'll get checks for sitting around"). I can't speak to Romney's motivations -- I'm not a mind-reader -- but the language in the ad harkens back to the kind of ugly and racially divisive rhetoric we heard from GOP candidates for far too long."

But it's worse than that, if that's possible. The message isn't just that Democrats want to give white people's money to lazy black people. In this case the not-so-subtle message to the cross-burning, sheet-wearing rednecks that Romney and the rest of the KKK GOP need to turn out in great numbers in November is this--and pardon my bluntness but it's the truth. 'One nigger wants to give all the other niggers your money to sit on porch and do nothing all day.'

It's the 2012 version of Lee Atwater's Southern Strategy. And it's just as ugly now as it was then.

Of course the GOP will turn any charges of racism around. You see if we would just quit pointing out the racist comments and actions and stop talking about it then everything will be just fine.

Mitt Rmoney may not be a racist but he sure doesn't mind hanging out with them.
