Texas Wins Race to the Bottom for Healthcare

Well, we did it.  Under years of GOP rule in both the state house and governor's mansion, our elected leaders have finally succeeded in pushing Texas to the bottom of healthcare delivery.  In a new study by the US government's Agency for Healthcare Research and Study, Texas ranked 51st (even below Washington, DC) in healthcare for its citizens, scoring a whopping 31 out of 100 possible points.  Among our state's greatest accomplishments (failures) are preventative care, acute care, and chronic care.  Rounding out this shameful record is home healthcare (at ZERO), hospital, and diabetes care.

Here are some other stellar accomplishments for our elected leaders:

Children in poverty: 24%
Children without healthcare insurance: 17% (tied with Nevada for worst)
Total without healthcare insurance: 25% Worst (Best? Massachusetts at 5%; with Romneycare)

I'm so proud.

But we made damned sure that a woman is forced to be violated by a wand probe sonogram in her vagina before being approved for abortion.

We's gots our priorities straight. Yeehaw!
