Ron Paul: A Victim of His Own Ideology

You're all familiar with the libertarian leanings of Republican candidate, Ron Paul.  Lately, his followers have taken to claims that the media isn't treating him fairly.  Poor Mr. Paul, he can't even get asked a question about abortion at a debate, and he was an OB for years!

I have this to say to Paul followers:

The media doesn't have to play fair.  The media is made up of (mostly) for-profit corporations.  They are not out to play fair, they are out to make money.  It is extremely hypocritical to continue to act like a victim of foul play when the actions of the media are just consequences of the free market he vehemently supports.

Ron Paul doesn't get the ratings Newt Gingrich does.  Therefore he won't get as much coverage, ok?

Let him grab those bootstraps and go out there and work harder for his airtime.

Thank you Doug. I'm getting old and I think I just wandered off...tonight I'm up late catching up on books, doing taxes and celebrating Newt's big win.

@Bob - In my experience, they are the ones too special to have to endure its hardships and are the ones that immediately begin to demand special dispensations.

I agree. Spot on Kel! And good to see you back again RockheadedMama. I was actually just wondering where you had gone.

Spot on Kel!

Perhaps the one most vehemently crying about it haven't been off of their parent's 'payroll' long enough. He has a very young demographic of followers. They need a little more life experience under their belts to temper some of that ideology.

I've often thought that those who espouse libertarianism are often the least capable of living in that environment.
