Sounds like he is doing quite well for himself. I think the worst is over for him and he has weathered the storm. You deserve to be proud of him...and your handiwork. :-)

On another positive note our neighbor "kid" who is 19 now (I still remember him as a tiny little rugrat running around the neighborhood) just returned from a Marine tour in Sangin (Eastern), Afghanistan. It is one of the most violent, bloody, and lawless regions in the country. I know I'm glad he is back in one piece and (apparently) no worse for the wear. I can imagine how ecstatic his Mom is feeling now.
