I've been watching the Occupy Wall Street movement since it started in
New York on September 17th. In the early days, coverage outside of
Occupy Wall Street's own website
was virtually non-existent, dismissed by the media. The major networks
were no where to be found, and even local coverage was sparse. It
wasn't until a video of a police supervisor pepper spraying peaceful
protestors went viral did the media finally wake up. Read more here...

Here in Minneapolis there is an occupy Minnesota event and it is being held at the Government Center downtown. I think this is a mistake. It should be held outside of one of the large banks in town ie. Wells Fargo. The power from this movement in New York is that finally FINALLY the right players are being targeted-Wall Street and Finance. The movement should not target Government, because that misses the mark. It is precisely because Wall Street and Finance control our political process that the focus should remain on them. I have contacted the organizers of the event in Minneapolis, and stressed to them this very point. I hope people around the Country don't start protesting their Government officials for change, because it is like the head of Medussa. You have to go at the ROOT OF THE PROBLEM if you really want change, and the root of the problem is Wall Street, and Finance.
