Extreme conservative House Majority Leader Eric Cantor has pulled out of the ongoing debt ceiling talks in Washington.
Republican Senator John Kyl of Arizona--who has a problem with facts--has also left these talks.
It appears that additional stimulus and possible tax increases for those most able to pay may be on the table as needed steps to help the economy.
What a welcome difference from the Republican strategy of working to keep the economy from recovering in order to hurt President Obama politically.
I'm wary of all sides in these talks. It is hard to see how the unemployed and the poor have any champions in Washington. Millions of hard-working middle class Americans also seem left out as the rich get richer and corporations gain more power each day.
Let's hope that President Obama and Democrats in Congress stand up for everyday Americans in these talks against a borderline disloyal opposition that wants to dismantle our government for the benefit of a greedy few, and in the name of pre-Civil War notions of small government.

Agreed.
Wow, I just feel all warm and fuzzy now.
Holy shit!
I saw Axelrod being interviewed earlier this week. His message? We're not worried. People will vote for Obama when they see the choice on the other side. IOW, "we've got you". Guess what? No, you don't. I'll be working my hinney off to see ultra progressives (the more left the better!) are elected to Congress - IF Obama gets in again - he will have to take what is dished out to him. and, no, I will NOT work for Obama this election cycle. Why? Because he didn't see fit to work for me.
This apparent "ineptitude" to BE president is his "strategy"????
His failure to deliver on the "change" he promised, just smoke and mirrors to deceive the republicans?
His bending over backwards to get along with these despicable bastards in the GOP, a formula for re-election???
His "braintrust" too smart to look this stupid?
Got me fooled.
Give this a read.

Obama absolutely MUST do something now, or we are going to be looking at a Republican President.
We can no longer sit on our hands and not get involved.
Nixon had two pretty good ideas, considering.
1. The Plumbers
2. The White House Enemies List
This "Axis of Evil", McConnel, Cantor and Kyl would get a little special attention if I were president. I'll just bet each one of these cockroaches has something to hide.
If Obama doesn't want to get involved, fine. Put the DNC on it. Something has to be done, soon. Obama and the democrats are j ust sitting there taking these punches and the only people fighting back are Olberman, Maddow, Matthews, Schultz, Jon Stewart and Colbert.
fork 'em...
P.S. Eric Cantor and John Kyl are giving Mitch McConnell a real contest in biggest SOB on the planet.
Several of the political talk shows last night mentioned the fact that the republicans were not supporting the legislation to temporarily reduce payroll taxes on BOTHh employers and employees, a VERRRY republican type bill, SOLELY to hurt Obama. In fact, everybody's
favorite douchebag, Mitch McConnell said as much in a press conference.
If Obama does not call these dastardly, despicable bastards out for what they are, and he won't, then he is gonna be blamed for the continued fizzling recovery. It's the most un-American behavior I have ever seen. There is NO working with these people and the sooner Obama recognizes this the better. He IS the president. He can go on TV and tell America what these conspirators are doing. WE can't depend on Olberman, Maddow et al to get the message to the American people. If Obama will not do it he MUST find somebody at the DNC with cajones to call these lowlifes what they are.
We are in real danger of putting the republicans back in the white house, IMO. God help us if we do.
