Palin on Egypt

Gobbledegook

gob·ble·de·gook

-noun
language characterized by circumlocution (the use of many words when fewer will do) and jargon, usually hard to understand:

pretentious or unintelligible jargon, such as that used by officials

--Synonyms
gibberish, doubletalk, bosh, mumbo jumbo.

Exhibit A. Sarah Palin's interview with David Brody of the Christian Broadcasting Network, taken directly from their own transcript. On President Obama's handling of  the situation in Egypt:

"It's a difficult situation, this is that 3am White House phone call and it seems for many of us trying to get that information from our leader in the White House it it seems [lame ass attempt at humor warning]  that that call went right to um the answering machine.

And nobody yet has, no body yet has explained to the American public what they know [they who?], and surely they know more than the rest of us know [knowing more than you ain't no great shakes, Sarah] who it is who will be taking the place of Mubarak and I'm not real enthused about what it is that that's being done on a national level and from DC in regards to understanding all the situation there in Egypt.

And in these areas that are so volatile right now because obviously it's not just Egypt but the other countries too where we are seeing uprisings, we know that now more than ever, we need strength and sound mind there in the White House [well, that leaves you out].  We need to know what it is that America stands for so we know who it is that America will stand with.  And we do not have all that information yet."

The former governor then extended her offer to assist the media:

"I think much of the mainstream media is already becoming irrelevant.  Because there is not balance in many cases, David, there is not truth coming out of the mainstream media and I know that first hand, I live it everyday. [It's still all about me and always will be].

And what would give me great joy is if what would become irrelevant is just the untruthful the misreporting out there.  I want the mainstream media, and I've said this for a couple of years now, I want to help 'em. I want. I have a journalism degree, that is what I studied.  I understand that this cornerstone of our democracy is a free press, is sound journalism. I want to help them build back their reputation.  And allow Americans to be able to trust what it is that they are reporting. We're so far from being able to trust what so many of  the mainstream media personalities, characters, feed the American public that it scares me for our country. [What scares me is that this dingbat is considered a serious contender for president]. What would give me great joy is what would become irrelevant is the misreporting that comes out of the mainstream media. [What would give the hearing public great joy is if you would shut the hell up].

Palin on what she would do if she were president:

"I would continue on the same course of not really caring what other people say about me [nah, you don't care, that's why you never miss an opportunity to bring it up] worrying about the things that they make up, but having that thick skin [the one that only does interviews on Fox News and bans media from her speechifying] and a steel spine, knowing that what is needed in America are those things that Ronald Reagan did espouse and what he lived and not worrying about what the critics are going to say about me or my family or what it is that I stand for because I do believe, David, that there are more commonsense conservative Americans on our side on the issues that we stand for than there are those who oppose the idea of individualism and God given liberty and opportunity to work hard and to progress according to our own work ethic [where does quitting fit into that work ethic?] and our own merits.  I would continue to believe that there are more who are believers in those values than there are not, so I would continue down that same path."

That woman is still an idiot.

Hey, y'all, Sparkie Dimwater is back at the dark side also.

I certainly hope Tina Fey brings her parody of SP back. That was pure genius!

And damned creepy, when you couldn't tell one from the other! But I must admit, I was ROFL each time she did that impersonation.

SP no longer scares me as a possible threat to us. She's too funny for words. All Tina Fey had to do a couple years ago on SNL was quote most of Palin's Katie Couric interview verbatim, and it was hilarious. When you get to read a transcript of what she actually said on most given occasions, it's gobbledegook, certainly.

If the majority of my fellow Americans are actually falling for it, which I doubt, then we need to worry about things far more important than that nitwit.

Sometimes I do, and I know all of you here do, too.

Super Bowl pre-game, half-time, and post-game shows ALL much-ado about nothing.

I figured there was little or NO chance of seeing breasts and/or nipples again so I went out a raked some leaves and cleaned up my Vette for the upcoming 31st Annual Texas Covette/Chevy Expo at the George R Brown Convention Center this weekend, February 12-13. The largest Corvete/Chevy event in the state. Classic Corvettes and Chevy's from all over the LOne Star State. Don't miss the Miss Corvete Bikini Contest on Sunday at 3PM.

I don't care who you are. THAT'S FUNNY!

I'm telling you all. Palin actually mounting a campaign for president in 2012 is gonna be the funniest thing on TV since the original cast of SNL. Every day will be a circus.

From Palin, "I have a journalism degree, that is what I studied. I understand that this cornerstone of our democracy is a free press, is sound journalism. I want to help them build back their reputation."

I'm sure they will welcome your input, governor.

My halftime show was "Destroyed in Seconds"...so I could stay in theme.

malapropisms of the inane variety is the only way to characterize Palin speak.

That Black Eyed Peas thing at the Superbowl was utterly depraved. Remind me to never catch them again!

Norm Crosby lives!

Hey Des,

I had a writing instructor in college that suggested that when one rambles (at least on paper) it suggests an attempt to articulate a not fully formed thought. Hmmm, sounds suspiciously familiar to me.

ummm, yeah, right! ;0}

Hi Doug,

it's funny how blogs can become addictive. A few years ago there was a blog following a local serial killer whereby most of the ongoing participants at one time or another said that they had to try to backoff to gain some perspective. With the exception of me, of course. Perspective?! Hell, who needs it!

oops, I see you DID say it...with emphasis :O)

It bears repeating, though...

ok, I'll say it...

That woman is an ?!?#@! idiot.

She has no place in shaping public opinion and in attempting to do so she is failing idiots everywhere, most of all Miss highness herself.

But in the truth of what they say down there in Washington, I think the president has some cajones to grow. Grow up I say Mr. President! After all over there in Egypt we have a dictator, but some say we have that here too. It's time to get government off of our backs, and let the free market tell us what to do. Show us the way if you will. Because when I listen to the American people I hear from them loud and clear saying "leave us alone. Let us pull ourselves up by our own boot straps". And I say we need to listen to what Ronald Reagan showed us how to do. If he were here today (and God Bless him) he'd take those Government Bureaucrats, and tell them Heck no, we don't want Obamacare.

So in closing I think it would be prudent upon all Americans to remember to vote for what's right in America, not what our Congress or the president says to do. We have to stand up for liberty just as our founding fathers did in the Constitution. Only this way will we ever get American back from the corrupt Government practices that so characterize or amplify if you will, all the troubles we have today.

Me Scott. I threatened to quit too. But, we all know The Cane is very addicting. Hey if this is the worst of my addictions, I'll take it! Right Des?

Aaron Sorkin on Palin this morning on CBS:

"I have a big problem with people who glamorize dumbness and demonize education and intellect," Sorkin said. "And I'm giving a pretty good description of Sarah Palin right now."

"I think that we have big problems right now," Sorkin said. "And Sarah Palin? She needs a therapist, okay? We need the smartest guys, the best Ph.D.s around to be solving these problems. I don't have any patience for the glamorization of dumbness."

And, from the Huffington Post, a "witless bully".

Well said.

Typical Sarah interview: "Egypt blah blah me me me me it's all about me the lamestream media is so mean to me me me and toss in some other words that don't make any sense but maybe no one will pay attention but just focus on me me me...."

I see where now Stupid Sarah is trying to put herself in the footsteps or mold of Ronald Reagan. (Not that that would be a surprising thing, because let's face it: Ronnie's 99% to blame for the shit that America's been dealing with for the last 30 years.) But doggone it, Sarah can't let the conservies celebrate Ronnie's 100th B/Day without getting some of that spotlight on herself. By golly, she's ridden horses on the Reagan Ranch! She's the Reagan conservative heir. She thinks. But credit to Ron Reagan (unlike his nitwit brother); Ron put her squarely in her place.

Can Sarah EVER say anything in a proper grammatical sense? "It's all about me having that steel spine, having that not caring about what people say about me...".

Really, what person actually talks like that? Could the dumb bitch at least say something without talking in circles? Such as, "I would....." and then SAY it, without that "it's about me having that....."

As one of our friends would say, she makes my eyeballs bleed.

The people of Egypt are fighting for their rights to live with dignity, to have decent lives without the fear of Mubarak's police and yet for Simpleminded Sarah, it's just more about how can she bash Pres. Obama and put herself forward.

That. Woman. Is. An. Idiot.

Okay, who had less than a week?
