You’ll recall that earlier today, I reported the molestation of my 5 lb. poodle, Mimi, when she was selected by a TSA agent for an “enhanced” pat down late Saturday night as we were trying to get home for the Thanksgiving holiday. The reason for the pat down? She was wearing a dog sweater. We hadn’t set off the metal detector, and hadn’t refused any TSA requests. She was selected because she was wearing a very stylish cable-knit sweater, at least from what we were told.
After posting about this outrage against Mimi’s and indeed, all canine travelers’ rights, I reported the injustice to my friends at MSNBC’s Countdown with Keith Olbermann. Keith was so concerned by this government assault on Mimi’s rights that he reported this incident on his show tonight. Mimi was humbled and grateful. Have a look at the segment:
It’s time that we all now stand up for canine travelers’ rights. Mimi’s humiliation calls for it. Call your congressman now.
