If there is an afterlife, where the deeds done during one's time on earth are the basis for either reward or punishment, I wouldn't want to be one John Sidney McCain. His payment for unleashing upon an unsuspecting country the natural disaster known as Sarah Palin will surely be severe, and deservedly so.To use a comparison to another ongoing national tragedy, Sen. McCain drilled a well in a remote area without any means of shutting off the flow if the worst-case scenario occurred. As is the case in the Gulf of Mexico, the blowout preventer on Palin's mouth is broken and her ignorance will apparently continue to gush out and pollute our airwaves for years to come.
The latest from the egomaniacal, self-serving, self-aggrandizing, money-grubbing, 'it's all about me,' funeral crashing, camera hound, that is the former half-term Governor of Alaska. The Deepwater Horizon of politics:
"Kentucky Senate candidate Rand Paul is feeling what it is like to be Sarah Palin, the former Republican vice presidential candidate said Sunday, comparing the media's preoccupation with Paul's recent statements about the 1964 Civil Rights Act to her own treatment in the press.
Palin said that Paul is seeing firsthand how "gotcha" politics work after the libertarian-leaning Republican spent days on defense spelling out his support for the Civil Rights Act and the government's role in regulating how private businesses can deal with their customers.
"One thing that we can learn in this lesson that I have learned and Rand Paul is learning now is don't assume that you can engage in a hypothetical discussion about constitutional impacts with a reporter or a media personality who has an agenda, who may be prejudiced before they even get into the interview in regards to what your answer may be -- and then the opportunity that they seize to get you," Palin told "Fox News Sunday."
First of all Sarah, I doubt you can spell hypothetical, much less have an iota of an inkling of a clue as to what it means. Stick to simple words for simple minds please. Stuff like 'You betcha' and 'drill, baby, drill.'
Moreover, Rand Paul and Sarah Palin are two of a kind. Whether it's Paul spouting his views of a make-believe libertarian utopia to his Ayn Rand inspired followers, or Palin in her Tea Party cocoon where dim-witted crowds lap up her inane babblings, both seem to take offense, and run away, when asked by someone outside their isolated surroundings to explain and defend their statements. Or in Palin's case, when confronted with a tough, ruthless, agenda-driven, prejudiced interviewer like Katie Couric, and asked those "gotcha" questions like what newspapers do you read or name a Supreme Court decision.

Being a film buff, I sometimes compare situations and events in real life to movies.
Half-Governor Barbie strikes me as being equal parts Larry(Lonesome)Rhodes from Elia Kazan's 1957 film "A Face In The Crowd", Chance The Gardener from Hal Ashby's 1979 film "Being There", and Elmer Gantry from the 1960 film of the same name.
If any of you out there are unfamiliar with these movies, they're worth a look...remarkable how art can sometimes imitate life.
All joking aside, the power to shut her up is ours (at least perjoratively). We must demand more and not less. That starts with our kids, schools, and local officials. I'm just sad that anyone even in humor suggests dumbing things down.
OK OK so I got carried away with the "s". I type fast.
I can spell "mostly".
As a footnote....I took another look at that godawful ugly picture of her here. Just who the hell is she blowing kisses to??? McCain? Perry? Rand Paul?
You damn sure know it probably ain't the First dude.
Gag. Beauty may be skin deep but stupid goes all the way to the bone.
ROFL!
I didn't know it was POSSIBLE for Palin to dumb down her message.
Jeez, pass the popcorn. I plan to sit back and enjoy watching them try to prove to their teabagging fans that they are dumber than the other one.
It would be funnier if these teabagging morons who hang on their every - misspelled, misspoken, and mosstly incomprehensible - word weren't so damn dangerous in their anger and bigotry.
Tina Fey's 'The Sarah Palin Network' was priceless on Saturday Night Live.
Likewise, Andy Borowitz (Huffpo) had a news release that Rand Paul had now passed Palin as the favorite for the Moron vote. A spokesperson for Palin said, "I never thought I'd say it but Sarah is going to have to dumb down her message."
Nothing is as devastating as derisive laughter.
You have outdone yourself Des! Love the analogies.
"Reporter or a media personality who has an agenda", eh? I guess the Wasilla Wingnut has to include her cohort kook Glenn Beck who nailed her with an "agenda driven gotcha question" such as "which is you favorite Founding Father?"
Her standard, deer in the headlights, no one's home answer? "All of them". Jeez. Even when thrown a marshmallow from her compadre, she totally whiffs. What a "moran".

More, ‘it’s all about me’ from Facebook Sarah to the S.C.(it must be something in the water) gubernatorial candidate accused of having an affair:
“For traditional media to rely on an accusation via some blog entry is almost laughable, but I know the seriousness of it because that’s exactly what my family and colleagues have had to put up with, every single day, for the past couple of years.
As I said to Nikki this morning, “Hang in there. I’ve been there. Any lies told about you will strengthen your resolve to clean up political and media corruption. You and your supporters will grow stronger through things like this.”

Me no like taxes. Waste bad. Like no one not like me. Vote only for white man. Must wash knuckles. Close border. Grunt. Pray in school. Read bible in court. Grunt grunt.
I can't comment on Palin any more. Just re-read Shortstuff's. She spoke the truth about Palin.
personally, i'm learninig to enjoy it....because i can look ahead to what's coming. We're talking about a group for whom the ability to express yourself cogently is a sign of being a liberal elitist....people who think the term "over-educated" is actually an insult(seriously? what the fleurk? like the thought process goes "I can't vote for him, he just has too much knowledge")
But remember, these folks are in competition with eachother! This means they have to out-folksy one another to win. It's a reductive cycle where each must be dumber than the last...a race to the bottom if you will. I for one can't wait till we reach the point where a Tea Party rally consists of monosyllabic grunting and hand guestures.
Whenever I hear her talk, I want to punch my fist through the TV screen.
John McCain should be horsewhipped. Or hung by his.....well, you get the idea.
And isn't it funny that, in the world according to Palin, the interviewer ALWAYS "has an agenda". Waah waah waah. Even when it's about kooky Paul, it's still all about her.
Yeah. Ri-i-i-i-i-g-g-h-t.
Earth to Palin, earth to Palin. It's called "getting the facts". Or trying to.
Just the facts, ma'am.
The Sunday political talk shows we particularly interesting yesterday. If you missed them, you made a mistake.
If I may, we learned that Michael Steele CAN be a fairly smart and entertaining guy. For the first time EVER, I was impressed by his appearance.
Also, begging your indulgence, we learned that Rand Paul is kook. Notice I didn't say maniac or idiot. Just "kook". It's not that I think he is gonna shoot himself in the foot. He already has and will. It's that I'm not sure just "how many" toes he's gonna take off before November.
I was really thinking that Palin's popularity was gonna start to shrink by now. I'm not sure. She's pretty good at what she does which is.........beats the hell out of me. What I think is that she can talk to people with "half a brain" on THEIR level because.......shoot, she's comparably equipped.
She sure uses a lot of dangling participles and disconnected subordinate clauses. Whenever I hear her talk I say........WHAT??????
aaahh the politics of victimhood.
