The Houston Chronicle printed my opinion piece this morning, where I talk about the BP blowout and next steps we should take before lifting the 6 month moratorium on deepwater drilling. The editors took some license with my narrative, changing the order of some events, but left my recommendations intact. I appreciate the Chronicle printing it.

Bob has done a great job on MSNBC and I am pleased to have found this site. Excellent piece too.
BP continues to implode regardless of the state progress with the top kill.
The media is pounding them regarding the stoppage and well they should. Why couldn't BP give the press a copy of the top kill plan approved by the CG? It would have saved them a lot a explaining. For that matter why couldn't the gov't provide the press with a copy of the plan? They claim they knew about the stoppage. Surely this was indicated in the plan.
Meanwhile BP plays Obama, Allen and Landry like their some cheap drum kit. All Obamas claims to authority and responsibility seem to do is emphasize the fact that this place is in the firm control of (oil) corporations.
Canada is facing some similar issues, and Chevron is currently drilling a test in even deeper water off Newfoundland:

If this is true, British Petroleum has no more credibility. About anything.
And, the President of the United States is very naive about offshore drilling.
Nicely done, El Jefe. There are 3 reasons why I migrated to this Website (and continue to do so):
1. thoughtful commentary on important issues,
2. It was recommended by Susan Bankston
(AKA "Juanita"), and
3. Anything that irritates Texas Sparkle and
that cabal of right-wing Chron bloggers is OK
by me.
I think it was pretty balanced with only a few jabs in there. I also liked the plug for the site at the bottom. Kudos.
Great piece. I must agree with Bob on a number of his points.
