Oops...Beck Accidently Stumps Palin with Trick Question

In what can only be termed as another Couric moment, during a misty interview yesterday, Glenn Beck unintentionally stumped new Fox talking head, Sarah Palin, with a trick question:  "Who is your favorite Founder?"  Deer in the headlights, it was clear she had no clue, and immediately fell into beauty queen babble about diversity, coming together, blah, blah, finally blurting out George Washington, the most obvious choice.  Have a look:

This Fox gig is going to be entertaining, just as I had hoped.

You know, what really struck me (besides the classic Sarah Palin "oh shit" deer in the headlights look of hers) was how it brought me to wondering if she really has any clue about the Revolutionary War and the Founding Fathers.
She starts blathering on about George Washington and "all those diverse....you know, minds, you know, all of them getting together and..........blah blah blah...."
Do you suppose she has the FAINTEST clue that George Washington was NOT one of the men who labored for years crafting the beautifully- written and intellectually superb words of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution? Do you suppose she does not realize that George Washington was the general who was fighting the British during the war? Do you think she even has a glimmer of understanding who John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, James Madison, John Hancock, Thomas Paine, et al, even WERE? And that Washington was voted in as President because of his courage and his leadership during said war?
I seriously doubt it.
I think this dipshit must have slept all the way through elementary American History.

I think it only approppriate, here, that I leave you today with a QUOTE from the esteemed Professor which is as appropos today as ever.

"If we don't change direction soon, we'll end up where we're going."

Oh how will miss him when he's gone.

So is Mike Huckabee!!

That's what I get for posting without reading all the comments first.

It is, gawd help us, some thing or other that a person can stick under the hair at the top back of her head to give the illusion of greater body. Or something like that.

arte et al: I must admit, I didn't check out the Professor's "status" before. According to Wiki, he was born in 1914. They DO NOT show him deceased. If that is true he is 96 years old.

For those who never actually saw the Professor, this guy is/was (?) one of the few comedians that could and would leave you truly rolling on the floor laughing.

carguy, I was sure Prof. Irwin Corey had already left this earthly veil of tears. Thanks for setting me straight. But I had him confused with Liam Dunn, who played Rev. Johnson.

That was painfully funny. Stewart and Colbert are going to have a field day with outtakes from her show. On a side note, Beck sure is getting fat.

And on a quick side note, the Ft. Bend County Tea Baggers are meeting on 2/5. There is a write-up about the meeting on www.ultimatefortbend.com
Gag!

I am all for comic relief. Its a great stress reliever. She could be the answer to all of problems with tension.

I don't think she will run. She really only appeals to the base. The vast majority of Americans will dismiss her as any legitimate type of candidate. The thought of her running the country and being the leader of free world scares the hell out of me and 99.9% of the rest of America.

I think you're right. From what I've been told, her book certainly indicates she did NOT enjoy her run for VP. I really think she got her fill of national politics. You all have to remember, she WAS a parttime sportscaster on The Q Zoo or whatever radio station in Anchorage. I'm pretty sure that meets the job requirements set by Fox News.

The "in doubt" strategic answer: "all of them"

We've already seen:
What magazines/newspapers do you read? All of them
Which is you preferred founding father? All of them

Imagine the following questions:
Which ex-soviet republic is our biggest enemy?
Which African country is our biggest energy threat?
Which treaty with native Indians was the most significant?
Which European countries are part of NATO?
Which of the Jonas brothers just got married?

Palin's most probable answers: ALL OF THEM!

Once again I say: what a great country this is. Only in America could someone as marginally talented and utterly clueless as S.P. become rich and famous.

How much would anyone wanna bet that, as she fumbled for an answer to Beck's question, someone off-camera found a Magic Marker and scrawled "GEORGE WASHINGTON" on a sheet of paper for her to see?

I DON'T think she is running in 2012. If you recall, her dream growing up was to be a newscaster. I really think she wants to make this Fox Thing work.
Surely she has to know that if she does make a run, that that particular episode on Beck is going to make the Couric thing seem harmless. Beck is the hero of the wea waggers; Mr. 9-12 himself. No way they could consider this a gotcha!
I find it hilarious! She has worked herself into a corner by her overreach.

I am with Shavedwombat on this one - her voice makes me want to go outside and scream at the top of my lungs! I can't go another moment listening to her - or Beck for that matter.

And yes, she will run in 2012 and there are a good many idiots out their that will help fund her campaign. The only hope that I have is that she will make such an ass out of herself on Fox that the majority of people in America will see her for the fool that she is...

For those of you who do not know Profesor (Dr) Irwin Corey...please enjoy:

http://www.irwincorey.org/routines.html

When she talks, she remimds me of Dr. Irwin Corey, the comic, who could double talk better than anyone. Frankly, that's a talent you have to born with. Even when you go to school, and which school, well it doesn't, because really you obtain your, and speaking is, something that, your parents thought, and wanted you to, for the most part, and many Americans do, but aren't aware of it, except that politically, that it's important, and when you can't you see the preponderance of, or the weight of, when you take up an argument, and your opponent doesn't, really comprehend, and sometimes they disagree, but, liberals in America, never, never, come to the table with anything but tax and spend, but they cut Medicare and .........

are you kidding? She's a cult of personality...the base that she energizes will donate more than they can afford to see God's work done. Much like they do with televangelists. Ayone who makes her look bad or beats her in an argument will be labeled as viciously attacking her(probably terrified of her too) She's put herself where conservatives are most dangerous...the place where all logic is circular, all arguments are assumptive, and rational thought has taken a trip to Tijuana to see a donkey show.

IF she runs, she'll get the nomination...the only question is whether she's got broad enough appeal to win the election(and should that happen my friends, i'm freakin' OUT of here....I'm taking the left turn at Albuquerque and getting the hell out of a country who's president thinks that calling someone "overeducated" is an insult. I'll move to australia and breed a race of horse-sized Riding Wombats)

I think Mark Twain answered that: "95% of the people are idiots. And the other 5% of us are in danger of contagion."

Does she ever say anything with a simple declarative sentence?
I've never heard her say much of any thing except her endless circular speaking which, you know how much she loves this great country of ours and - hey Alaska here's a shout out for ya! - and those evil librul elitists who are going to bring their death panels out to kill granny and no, she doesn't really know if the president was born in Hawaii and - oooh look it's the first dude and look at him, and she's just a pitbull with lipstick.........
Gag.
If she runs (and you KNOW she's going to!), it'll be a toss up for my reasoning: do I watch for the comedy relief or do I watch with horror? What is wrong with this country that so many fools can't see what a literal dipshit she is?

See that hump on her head, how her hair is higher in the back? There's an infomercial clip that you put on the back of your head and then put your hair over it. But wait, there's more! I bet she got a ped-egg and a sham-wow with her purchase!

If she REALLY runs in 2012, the Republican primaries are gonna be a site to behold. What can she be thinking??? The other GOP candidates will chew her up. Letterman will fry her over the fire like S'mores. She AND her family are gonna take more hits than Bonnie and Clyde at the shootout. Where is she gonna get the money???

The obvious question, I'm pretty sure I already know the answer to, is whether Palin knows the names of any of the other Founders. She goes on to talk about how we should look for leaders who are "reluctant to serve" I'm wondering if she realizes that by that criteria, she has ruled herself out.

On second thought, maybe she nailed it. Palin has always been eager to be elected, but reluctant to actually do the job.

just finished listening to Beck's radio show "analyzing" his interview with Palin...the guy was so worshipful i half expected him to drop down and give her a BJ.

She's running in 2012....no doubt in my mind, playing the reluctant heroine martyr all the way. Which of course means that i have another couple of years of having that grating, tremulous voice of hers work my very last nerve like a belt sander(pray for me folks, i may lose my mind)

All right. We admit it. She IS pretty and sexy. But we men like a woman with a brain. Someone we can share our thoughts and ideas with.Someone we can spend a private night, alone, together, in front of the fireplace, with a nice Pino Noir, just talking......
....
....
....
Pssst, guys, do you think she bought that???

At least she didn't start talking about fish. Of course, thinking Beck said flounder.

Does this woman EVER end a sentence?

This is totally off-topic, but is that a Bump-It that she's wearing? Is she trying to make it look as if she has more cranial space than she actually does? Perhaps something bouffant would work better.

At least she proved that she may have graduated from first grade on her own merits.

ahhh we have so missed the Palin enlightenment LOL. She has found her place now
