Live Blogging: If Brown Wins in MA, What Next?

Returns now have Scott Brown, Republican Teabagger in Massachusetts, as the favorite to win the special election tonight to fill the Senate seat held by Ted Kennedy, Lion of the Senate.  Certainly, Martha Coakley, the Democratic candidate, has run an abysmal campaign, squandering a 30 point lead by simply not campaigning and arrogantly assuming she would win.  Brown, pandering to the right wing and independent electorate, especially anti-incumbent Teabaggers, has been actually running ads with Jack Kennedy morphing into Brown in a cynical bid to appeal to voters while opposing virtually every policy supported by brothers Jack and Ted Kennedy.  It's slick, and, of course, completely dishonest.  Have a look:

Amazingly, the electorate in Massachusetts seems to be going for this media campaign, and certainly, Brown has outworked Coakley on every front.  His election will certainly kill health care reform, as bad as it is in its current form, for another generation or 2.  Or 3, or 4 or 5.  The Democrats, with the strongest mandate to reform health care in over 7 decades, appears poised to fuck it up by wasting almost a year trying to get the Republicans on board, dealing with Teabaggers, and most recently, allowing "moderate" Dems to pander to their right wing constituents and big donors in an effort to keep their own jobs.  Now, Coakley, through pure arrogance and laziness, has wrecked health care for millions.

Oh.  And just so you know, here is Massachusett's new potential Senator:

Chalk one up for the insurance industry and Republicans...the true Culture of Death.  Oh, and Cosmopolitan magazine.  Can you imagine any woman winning a Senate seat after posing nude for a magazine centerfold?  We're so proud of Massachusetts tonight.

POMMMMMMM (Party of Me. Me, Me, Me, Mine, Mine, Mine)

Well!
Sarah Palin claimed it was "sexist" when she posed for a picture FULLY dressed in a cute, tight little running outfit and it was printed.
Wonder what Caribou Barbie thinks of this? Does she think it's sexist?

Damn, Teddy's seat now occupied by a Cosmo guy, who's so stupid he's a TeaBagger.
Massachusetts must be so proud of themselves tonight. Gag.

Bob, with all due respect, Coackley ran the worst campaign ever...arrogance wins nothing.

Look, this may, just MAY, be the wake up call that the Dems need...this "we have the majority and we can do whatever" mentality must stop. They must listen to the people they represent - not to the lobbyists et al, and come back down to freakin' earth!

We deserved this loss, but, please God, we may learn something from it!

Regardless of what we think of the candidates, the people have spoken.

Democrats and the President have been given a clear message.

Who'd-a-thunkit?
