Charlie Brown To Give Lucy One More Chance

"De facto Republican Centrist Democratic senators have circumvented party leadership to approach Maine GOP Sens. Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins about reviving healthcare talks.

Democrats such as Sens. Blanche Lincoln (Ark.), Bill Nelson (Fla.) and Max Baucus (Mont.) have approached Snowe within the past week to discuss her potential support for various healthcare proposals.

...Snowe said Baucus, the chairman of the Senate Finance panel, approached her in the past week to get her general thinking on reviving healthcare reform..."I think that it would be possible for the White House to come together with the Republican leaders to draft a scaled-down bill and I hope that might happen," Collins said."

How "scaled down?"

"...one of the most popular elements of healthcare reform, a ban on insurance companies discriminating against pre-existing medical conditions, would be difficult to include in a scaled-down package, Senate aides say."

Sen. Lucy Snowe said that "the only way for the White House to break the partisan stalemate is to reach out to her and Republican colleagues..."If they really want to change the calculation, they have to reach out."

Don't do it, Charlie Brown. Don't.......Aaugh!

Is it me or do the Democrats just to get kicked in the nuts. If the Republicans end up gainig control of the Congress then the Democrats have no one to blame but themselves. Democrats have proven that they cannot lead and have shown the nation that even with majorities in both houses nothing will be done. It is quite pathetic.

amen brother...

Has anyone bothered to mention to O. Snow that she is contributing to the deaths of 48,000 people a year from having no insurance? Let me guess, she has a hard time thinking about it while sitting in the doctor's office paid for by the very people she is killing off.

Hey, we have VRT, voice recognition technology. Why not self-correcting keyboards for those of us who think faster than we can type. How damn hard can that be?????

Carguy,

yours was a minor faux pas. I agree, though. a little editing capability could save many of us a lot of blushing moments.

To quote/paraphrase one of my favorite movies as social metaphor:

"Thank you ma'am, may I have another?"

Hey, God made you from MY rib. A little gratitude please. :-)

Just like a man, trying to get everyone to do all the work for you while you take it easy...;)

Just how frickin' hard would it be to install "spell check" on this damn blod??????

I mean Bkog.....

I mean B-L-O-G.

Son of a bitch.

That's "DECLINING"

Here's what I think will likely be in the final healthcare reform bill when it passes:

1) Health insurance companies will be forced to consider ALL applicant's enrollments, REGARDLESS OF PRE-EXISTING CONDITIONS, prior to delining coverage.

B) Enrollment (ID) cards MUST be laminated and the print at least a #10 font for easier reading.

That shouldn't take 5,000 pages. Two paragraphs oughta suffice.

P.S. Betcha republicans lobby against "B"

Miemaw, you must be mistaken. There's no individual mandate. That was Hillary's heath care plan. Obama said........well, never mind.

What's left is "the mandate".

Pre-existing condition coverage would be gone? then there's nothing left in the damn bill!
