Yesterday, Desperado and I attended the angry mob tea party in the parking lot of the Sam Houston Race Track. Hundreds showed up to voice their concern about a black president and losing an election higher taxes and government spending. One gentleman was so kind as to let us know that Obama couldn't be prosecuted for treason because he's not a citizen - instead - he can be prosecuted for espionage. From Kenya, I assume?
They didn't kick the socialist (above) out..
Someone needs to let this woman know that Ronald Reagan has passed on. But if she'd like to give Ron Reagan a shot, that wouldn't be so bad!
The above poster was signed by none other than Ron Paul, to top it off.
She's either against the repeal of the old sodomy laws or she REALLY doesn't like Yoga.
Silly. Putin's not even a citizen. Duh.
No political party or candidate was represented.
I'll end it with the teabaggers thoughts on exploiting the grief of our nation at the Fort Hood tragedy:
Not much to worry about in 2010 for the Dems, at least.

I would say you could throw yourself in front of the train at the ballpark but that can only kill you if it moves once in a while.
Maybe we should do a "hand in your gun and get free Astros tickets" campaign. Then, after watching the Astros you will want to kill yourself and won't have your gun. It's an O'Henry story read to be written.
I've been saying it for a long time......in this country we've got TWO major problems:
1) TOO MANY IDIOTS
2) TOO MANY GUNS
Tha't a dangerouse combination.
But it only takes one or two of these idiots with their guns and ammo to kill.
And don't you know all of these people are totally up in arms about the incident at Ft. Hood and declaring it "terrorism".
Terrorists? They need to look in their mirrors.
My guess is that the teabaggers were always a dependable GOP vote. Question was, would they turn out? Houston already has its share of wingnut House members (can you say Culberson?) and then, of course, we have Ron Paul who is in a class all by himself.
So, my point is how much actual political damage can they do? There is a difference between ignorant complaining and effective political activism. My suspicion is that most of these people (pegged at 20% by Newt Gingrich) lack the smarts to become an effective political force, absent someone to pick up their banner and lead them. Ross Perot isn't even crazy enough to do that, which leaves Sarah - and polls have shown a solid majority of Americans view her as unqualified for office.
Let them rant and make complete fools of themselves.
carol i tell everyone about this as you know, and facebook refuses to shut this down. fubar is just as dangerous in my book as the fort hood tragedy. i say this because tea party is starting to act brazenly and are emboldened by offical misconduct. if fort hood can happen anything can. do they have metal detectors for congressman going to the house floor? interns, pages, security guards, even frustrated hate-driven congress men and women could snap in my opinion, after watching the opening debate on healthcare. the ugliness and hostility, hatred was swirling like an omnipresence of evil. sorry to be so negative, but in today's society apparently anything goes.
BTW, am I the only one that sees all this as FUBAR?
I must admit that "Barakula" is hilarious though! I've always liked "B" movies!
houston press had an interview with a local fellow who sells anti-obama merchandise. my son wants to start a business selling anti-tea party merchandise and pro-obama and health care shirts. think we can get away with a shirt showing the tea party as death eaters from harry potter? suppose if batman franchise has not taken out the "obama as joker" we could. during the first couple of harry potter story lines, death eaters were covert, going about their business at day and plotting and hating at night. this allowed them to infiltrate the ministry of magic (government and businesses) without blowing their covers. but during book 4, they came out in the open like the tea party, spewing hate on the job, to their neighbors. by book 5 they no longer needed masks because they were the ruling party. just a sci fi story of course.
Just about what we expected wasn't it ? I guess Angry White People Syndrome" is not quite an epidemic but there are enough of them for it to be worrisome.
Wow... thanks for sharing the photos. I'm wondering how they were able to gather so many ignorant, racist and stupid people all in one place at the same time? God help us. These people actually live and work in Houston? Scary thought.
This continues to disturb me. I'm afraid it's only a matter of time before some of them commit violent acts. If the Dems manage to hold things together and maintain their majority in 2010, the Tea Party rage will surely increase.
My God! Racism is alive and the baggers do not see it as such? Ignorance at the highest level.
All that I can say is simply "holy crap"!!! And these are our neighbors?
No hoods and sheets, but there was a pickup in the parking lot with a giant AMMO sign in the bed.
Were they handing out the white sheets and pointy hats at the front gates?
Jesus. What a bunch of freaking idiots. I am ashamed that these people believe they are the "real" Americans.
They are stupid, deluded and they are dangerous.
I will ask a question I heard someone else ask. How did you take all these pictures without any minorities in them? I thought the Tea Baggers represented the "real" America.
Unbelievable!
I knew there were a few thousand KKK'ers in the area.
To see them all gathered in one place --- is totally unbelievable -- especially the classy Aggie with the T-shirt.
No wonder A&M has such a bad name, and gets a bad rap, at times.
Those who can make you believe the outrageous lies - can get you do just about anything I guess.
Or as Voltaire said "Those who can make you believe absurbities - can also make you commit atrocities."
Thank ya'll for going to this event, and sharing your pictures, and experiences.
Are these folks to be pitied, or feared? I guess H.L. Mencken had it right:

Yes, it appears the AWPP (Angry White Peoples's Party) was well represented. It's also obvious that the protest demonstrated just how badly our schools have failed over the last couple of generations.
