We've all heard the expression "give it 100%" meaning maximum effort. Coaches have asked their players to "give 110%" which while physically impossible, is a motivational tool urging members of the team to perform beyond their capabilities. But have you ever heard of giving it 193% ? Apparently the folks at the Fox affiliate in Chicago have. They put up this pie chart to show the results of a Fox News / Opinion Dynamics Poll:
Here's anchor Byron Harlan's report. From Think Progress:
Just a word of advice for Fox. Pie charts are suppose to equal 100%. Maybe a bar graph would be a better choice next time.
The actual poll question was about the favorable rating among Republicans of the possible candidates for the 2012 GOP presidential nomination, with one non-candidate thrown into the mix-Oprah Winfrey. Palin's overall favorable rating, including Republicans, Democrats, and Independents polled, was 47%. Oprah's was 61%.

No, just 47 percent of us (or 140 percent if you are Fox)
Palin's overall approval rating - among Independents, Democrats and Republicans - was 47%? Good lord. We have become a nation of complete idiots.
Fox News is always on one of the TVs at my gym. It's bad enough that I have to look at it while sweating away on a treadmill, but mercifully I don't have to listen. Thank God one has to tune into the correct FM frequency for that. Anyway, I have noticed that Fox News is much worse than its competitors with respect to spelling and grammar in text boxes and the running crawl at the bottom of the screen. Sometimes the errors are hilarious. This mathematical blunder doesn't surprise me at all.
Oprah? After 25 years of making my life miserable she's going off the air, now they want to make her a presidential candidate...oh God, I can't take it anymore...
In a very small nutshell that demonstrates the logic reasoning capabilities of the right. It just shows you what can happen when you try to shove logic and the human brain into the same nut...shell, that is.
