Senator Edward M. Kennedy passed away Tuesday night, August 25, 2009 of brain cancer. He was 77.
Please enjoy the following speech by Teddy from the DNC, followed by the touching video that outlined the victories and hopes of his life.
Now is not the time for politics, but I will just say I am deeply saddened he didn't make it long enough to cast the vote he worked a lifetime to make possible.
RIP, Ted.

You will be sorely missed Senator Kennedy.
May your family find peace and comfort in the days and months ahead knowing you have touched many lives across world. You legacy will never be forgotten.
Sad day.
He was a "statesman". A term that, unfortunately, rarely applies anymore.
Don't hate me, Wilma, but I have to say it:
"The Lion sleeps tonight."
Meant in the most respectful manner possibly, of course. So sad today.
i can't remember a time when he wasn't a senator....guess it was one of those thing i figured would always be there.
So long man...in the end, no effort towards the betterment of the lives your fellow men is wasted or in vain. Hopefully we can finish the job for you.
I will miss you sir.
I am truly saddened today. This was not unexpected, but I was hoping so hard that he would live long enough to vote for the health care reform that he worked decades to bring about.
Rest in peace, sir. And my deepest sympathies to the entire Kennedy family.
I'll show my age but...."I just saw him walking over the hill with Abraham, Martin and John (and Bobby)....."
While I realize that Senator Kennedy made mistakes in his personal life (and who has not), he became a beacon for those who would fight for the ordinary man.
He will be missed.
Very appropriate.
As his brother said, he asked himself what he could do for his country, as did so many of his family members.
What other family in this country has dedicated themselves to the US for as long as they have?
For those who will throw stones at his personal life, they should ask themselves what THEY have ever done that is truly remarkable.
This seems appropriate, at this time, and for this giant among men:
May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
May the rains fall soft upon your fields,
And, until we meet again,
May God hold you in the hollow of His hand.
(Traditional Irish Blessing; origin unknown,
although some attribute it to St. Patrick.)
