According to WRAL News, a North Carolina news outfit, John Edwards is expected to admit he is the father of the 18 month old daughter of his former mistress, Reille Hunter. Poor Elizabeth.
Interesting quote from Edwards about the Clinton/Lewinsky affair in 1999: "I think this President has shown a remarkable disrespect for his office, for the moral dimensions of leadership, for his friends, for his wife, for his precious daughter. It is breathtaking to me the level to which that disrespect has risen." Didn't seem to bother him that he was having an affair while running for office, though.
In kind of related news,
Always one to state the obvious, South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford says, "My political days are over." The rest of the nation says, "Duh!"
The real doozy will be if my nightmare of a Perry/Palin affair becomes true. Boy, those two sure are pretty. Enjoy the come-hither dance depicted below:

The thing that strikes me about Palin is that she is an opportunistic bitch. She'd sell her kids for camera time, I think.
And Perry/Palin makes me want to vomit.
I just looked at that last picture of Palin and Perry again. I'm pretty good at reading body language. I think "come hither" sums it up nicely.
Just goes to show that it seems that if we could find a Republican with a heart or a Democrat that could keep it in their pants you would find the perfect presidential candidate. Why does it seem that those with the natural charisma are always like this?
Uh Oh! Wut up wit dat? Bad-mouthing Bill and Monica and he got busted doing worse! And I kinda liked him too! The cheatin' ho!
Certainly he has his moral failings, as all of us do. Lord knows I've exhibited my share.
Well stated Carol and I agree 100%!
Thus why I would never comment about something like that. Lord knows I've never done anything like that and certainly don't plan on it, but it takes some gall to judge others IMHO.

carguy,
The something you were sensing was that someone who could say this was actually capable of doing what he did. I call such nagging little gut feelings red flags and I have learned to listen to them . . .
Thanks. I thought it was appropriate because I'm headin' out to cut some brush out back of my property s'afternoon.
Carguy, maybe that "something" is that he is truly a narcissist. There are many self-absorbed politicians, but narcissism is a whole other animal. That being said, I'll bet there is a higher percentage of them in politics than in the general population.
Not sure Palin and Perry aren't... especially Palin. She doesn't seem to display empathy well, and she is rather unfazed by criticism despite her protest. I believe everything she says and does is to advance her career... even when talking about her children. She doesn't seem "connected" to them. I've thought this from the beginning.
1) Really? Cheating on your wife is bad enough, but you can't be bothered to wrap it to make sure you at the very least don't bring home a disease to her? Loves her my big white a$$. . .
2)Palin/Perry? Gross.

Very nice GWB impression, my friend.
You know...........I liked Edwards. But there was always "something" that bothered me about him. I was OK with him as VP. But I never "felt" comfortable about him as a presidential candidate. Maybe because he was a "sucessful" lawyer. Maybe because of the accent.

I think a lot of them are rutting pigs and the rest just haven't been caught.
I know that politicans are human - ok, well most of them are human, some not so much -- but if this is true then John Edwards is right up there at the top of the pig meter for me.
