Updated: Looks like Dobson didn't like his the true nature of FOM getting out in public and killed the video feed... Like an idiot, Stuart Shepard, Director of Digital Media (propaganda) for Focus On the Family, Dobson's right wing lobbyist group that masquerades as a religious organization, encouraged everyone to pray for rain during Obama's acceptance speech in Denver last Thursday. We had heard that the religious right was actually doing that, but I ran across this very interesting video of Shepard encouraging Dobson's flock to do just that:
This kind of senseless hate mongering raises a whole myriad of issues, foremost of which is trying to get God to take sides in ideological squabbles. The irony is that Gustav is now projected to make landfall on an already ravaged New Orleans at almost the precise time that the RNC is to be gaveled open in Minnesota. The convention has now been almost completely cancelled. Maybe the religious right ought to be careful what they arrogantly pray for.
They might just get it. It just may not be the answer they wanted.
